Its’ already October….can’t believe it….this year has gone by SO FAST!
Did sessions in the frozen tundra of Jan. and Feb. for my good friend Mr. Greg Suran for his upcoming solo release, as well as singer/songwriter Monika Ryan. I’ve continued on in my role at Million Dollar Quartet-8 shows a week. Tributosaurus has remained busy, playing our residency gigs at Martyr’s and Wire respectively, as well as festivals and the occasional corporate gig or private party. Started doing remote sessions from my basement as well-if you read this and need some drum tracks, email me from the Contacts page and I can give full details on my set up. Still teaching privately as well-lessons are available in person in the Chicago area, or over the Internet via the bandhappy. Cheers!
2013 has been a good one so far:
New Years w/Tributosaurus playing The Beatles Red Album-one of the first records I ever coveted/owned…not too shabby
I’ve continued on in my role at Million Dollar Quartet Chicago-8 shows a week, as well as promo gigs here and there on the side, and Vicarious has reared its ugly, beautiful head again. I’m regularly pulling my hair out in the practice room staying on top of those mammoth Tool drum parts. Tributosaurus is still rocking as well-so far this year we have tackled (or been tackled by), the Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Van Morrison, Cheap Trick, The Kinks, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, The Who, and Kool and the Gang……still more to come on that front before years end…I’ve updated my studio and now am capable of doing Internet drum tracks via Pro Tools 10. There will be an updated page with studio specs to follow soon. Teaching privately as always-there’s info on the lessons page, and I have recently been accepted as a teacher on bandhappy.com. It’s an amazing site that offers music lessons of all types either in person or online via video chat.
If you are reading this and think I’m a good drummer and would like to take lessons but don’t live in Chicago, please check this out! It’s awesome.
More to come soon!
Had an AMAZING time on the MDQ Japanese Tour! We played 2 weeks at the brand new Theater Orb in the heart of Tokyo, then a week at Theater Orix in Osaka. I can’t say enough about the way we were treated and the response to the show! Also got to visit Shrines, many great restaurants (including the FAMOUS Sukiyabashi Jiro), and generally experience the culture in a wonderful way! Thanks for the great opportunity!
NewYears-Started the year w/a series of Super Fun shows w/Tributosaurus plays Prince at Martyrs and Fitzgeralds in Berwyn.
Since Sept. 1 of last year I have been drumming fulltime for MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET at the Apollo Theater. It’s a wonderful show that I’m proud to be a part of!
Upcoming Gigs this year include: More Tributo 10th Anniversary shows, Tyn Lynott, Vicarious Tool Tribute, MDQ appearances, and private events
Still teaching privately. Check the Lessons page for info!
