to the website of drummer, percussionist and programmer
Dan Leali. Here's where you can communicate directly with Dan, sample
his recorded works and obtain drum/percussion loops or overdubs. Enjoy!!!
Happy New Year! 2007 was quite eventful-got to play a bunch of BIG shows w/POI including Orchestra Hall, backed up Jewel w/The Chicagoland Pops, and got to playw/the Great Howard Levy. Tributosaurus continues at Martyrs, and now in LA! I'll be going out there to help launch Trib. LA on Feb. 13th at the Brown Derby. Did some session work, Soulio released a CD that I'm on, and in addition to Blue Man had the great fortune to sub on Putnam County Spelling Bee, Something's Afoot, and Superman at Drury Lane Water Tower and Oak Brook, respectively. '08 promises to be pretty busy as well. New POI CD in March-the release is March 29th at the Vic. There will be some touring and big local shows to follow..
A native of the Chicago area, Dan received a BM in
Jazz Studies from DePaul University in Chicago. He has performed live
or on record with such artists as jazz trumpeter Randy Brecker, Blue
Man Group, guitarist Fareed Haque, bluesmen Pinetop Perkins and John
Primer, and funk/jazz group Liquid Soul, touring extensively worldwide
and receiving a Grammy nomination for his performance on that band's
2000 recording, "Here's the Deal." Dan has also been active in the recording
studio, performing on commercial jingles for such products and organizations
as Budweiser, Miller Lite, Golden Grahams, and the U.S. Army. He teaches
privately, does school presentations and clinics, and doubles as a percussionist
and programmer. Currently, Dan can be seen and heard with Poi Dog Pondering,
the Chicago Production of Blue Man Group: Rewired, The Fareed Haque
Group, and Tributosaurus, among others.
